CO-NELE Laboratory Granulator Realizes Stable 1.5-3mm Zinc-Sulfate-Pellets with More Than 90% Sphericity
Qingdao, China – Recently, CO-NELE Machinery has finished targeted granulation testing for zinc-sulfate powder with its self-developed laboratory-type intensive mixer-granulator. The staged-timing granulation process successfully produces finished pellets sized from 1.5-3mm, and the final sphericity rate reaches above 90%, solving long-standing problems including uneven particle size, excessive fine-powder waste and low forming-rate of traditional granulating equipment for agricultural-grade zinc-sulfate raw materials.
laboratory intensive mixer granulator
Zinc-sulfate powder is widely used for trace-element fertilizer, chemical raw materials and feed-additives. Conventional disc granulators and roller compaction machines struggle to precisely control pellet diameters between 1.5-3 mm. Oversized or undersized particles will cause uneven nutrient release, heavy dust pollution and low-product value, which has troubled many chemical-material manufacturers for years. To verify the feasibility of small-batch formulation before full-scale industrial-production, CO-NELE’s technical team carried out whole-process timed granulation tests step-by-step. The whole forming-cycle only takes 6 minutes, with clear particle-growth phases as follows:
First 1 minute
Dry zinc-sulfate powder fully mixes with binder under high-shear 3D turbulent-field inside CO-NELE lab-granulator. Fine-powder gathers and turns into tiny nuclei uniformly without dead-mixing zones;
Next 3 minutes
Tiny particles start regular growing. The reverse-rotation rotor and inclined-mixing cylinder provide steady rolling force, which guides micro-granules to expand gradually toward the target-size range;
Follow-up 2 minutes
Speed parameters of rotor and chopper are fine-tuned continuously. Medium-size particles keep rolling-compacting while excess fine-powder re-agglomerates, avoiding oversized particles effectively;
Different from traditional granulation machines that separate mixing and granulating into independent steps, adopts integrated mixing-granulating-shaping technology. The 3-dimensional counter-current-mixing structure makes sure each zinc-sulfate-particle gets even rolling-force. Operators adjust running-parameters flexibly according to powder-characteristics, so as to realize precise particle-size control from 0.5mm-5mm, which matches diverse requirements of chemical, ceramic, lithium-battery and fertilizer-industries.
Lab-scale test data provides reliable reference parameters for subsequent large-capacity industrial-type granulating-production lines. Clients can copy the optimized rotational-speed and time-setting parameters from lab-equipment onto full-production-scale intensive-mixer-granulators directly, greatly shortening trial-production period and reducing raw-material loss.
Our lab granulator serves as a bridge between formula-research and mass-production. We provide customized granulation tests for global clients, helping customers get qualified-particle-products at laboratory stage and avoid costly mistakes during industrial-scale production.
